Swirly Thing Alert

Yeah, good name, right? (There is a prize for anyone who gets the reference*)
Anywho, I decided to do something simple, but that looked intrcate.
Also a test of the Bourjois So Lacque nail varnishes.
I liked the Bourjois polish. I find pale colours usually streak without many thousands of coats, but this only took 2. It was also very shiny pre-topcoat.
Products used: Pale pink - Bourjois (Rose Lounge)

*The prize is an imaginary cupcake.

Water Marbled Nails

One of my friends suggested I try water marbling, so I did. It is my first attempt, so some are better than others, but overall I really like the effect.
This thumb nail is my favourite. I love how complicated it looks, but it's actually not that tricky. Just beware the amount of clean up that will be needed!
Hope you like them :)

Galaxies and Nebulae Nail Design

Galaxy nails are big news at the moment. Loads of photos and tutorials have popped up all over cyberspace. I couldn't not give them a go, partially because I'm doing a degree in Maths and Astronomy, and partly because my friend sent me a picture and did her puppy dog eyes at me. Who could resist?
I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, and they're pretty simple once you've got the sponging technique sorted. And they're glittery - yay!

Aztec Awesomeness

It's been a while since I've had nails worthy of photos, so I'm ridiculously happy about these. They're an Aztec-type design (inspired by Wah-nails, for a change) and with a vaguely egyptian colour scheme.
Close up of my thumb. The flash has warped the colour a bit, the base is actually a darker metallic teal.
Products used: Dark blue (under metallic teal) - Barry M

More Christmas Nails

My other Christmas design suffered some damage while moving so I did another one. Prezzies! What's not to love? The original present design was inspired by Wah-nails.
I put stars on the ring fingers and thumbs to add yet more sparkle.

Christmas Nails!

I actually love christmas, but I refuse to start getting festive until december, so I've been waiting to do these for weeks. There is no better time of year for sparkle and bling so these feature 22 rhinestones. Everyone seemed to be doing red based designs, so I decided to go with green (it's emerald green in real life), and as it's so dark the white and silver show up much better.
Here's a close up of my thumb nail (which is very short at the moment after a wrestle with the recycling box).
And this is a close up of my ring finger. I went to town with the rhinestones here.
Hope you like them, and Merry Christmas!

Experiments with Rhinestones and the like

I found all manners of glittery things and decided to shove them on my nails. Here are a few of the results. The Orange Flower look is inspired by a design on my.coolnailsart but I can't remember who.
 Very simple blue with sparkles.
Sorry for the bad lighting of this photo. This is my most recent nail design (I still have it). In real life, it's covered in a glittery top coat.

POW!

I wanted a bright and colourful design for my summer holiday (to Bristol, but a holiday's a holiday), so I did a rainbow version of Wah Nails' "Pow" design. There are also 2 fairly obscure references in there, 5 points to anyone who can guess them.
Close up of my left hand...
And a decidedly blurry not-really-close up of my right hand.

My entries into 3TanjaJ3's Contest

A while ago now, 3TanjaJ3 held a vacation themed nail art contest on YouTube. These were my entries. Tutorials are available for each design, just search for my user name; mohnblume11 or click the links before each picture.
The first is an eiffel tower at night design. (Video)
The second design is a palm tree silhouetted against a sunset. (Video)
The third is ice cream. There's always room for ice cream. (Video)
The final design is a fruit salad and it's kind of almost 3D. (Video)
So yeah, those are my vacation themed nails. Now very out of season, but there you are.
